Originally released in 2008, Saturdays = Youth features the singles “We Own The Sky,” “Kim & Jessie” and “Graveyard Girl.” It’s a shimmering, nostalgic pop ode to the ‘80s and M83’s most explicit celebration of how it feels to be dazed, confused and 15 years old. With Junk (2016), the GRAMMY-nominated, Platinumselling artist set out to craft what they called “an organized mess”—a collection of songs that shouldn’t belong together but somehow do. The album spans from the fractured yet infectious opener “Do It, Try It,” blending old-school house pianos with pop-art hooks, to “Solitude,” a cinematic, melancholic epic that has since gone viral on TikTok.
